Announcing detailed planning of Thang Long Imperial Citadel Center
On April 19, the Hanoi People's Committee and the Ministry of Construction announced the detailed plan "Preserving, restoring and promoting the value of the Central Relic Site of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi" (scale 1/500).

The planning scope and scale belongs to Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, with an area of 18,353 hectares, including 2 areas: Hanoi Citadel and Archaeological Area 18 Hoang Dieu.
According to Mr. Bui Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture, this planning has 3 approved items including: Planning Project; Conservation Project and Construction Investment Management Regulations.
The goal of the planning is to preserve, restore, and exploit for research, community education, tourism, and to raise awareness of responsibility in preserving and promoting world cultural heritage.
Along with that, building a community cultural space in harmony with the architectural landscape, ensuring technical infrastructure in the overall Ba Dinh Political Center area.
The planning is also the basis for developing regulations and plans for overall management of the relic site and implementing investment in component projects according to the planning.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Dinh Toan requested the Hanoi People's Committee to soon arrange capital to invest in construction of items according to the planning.
At the same time, during the construction process, the city needs to ensure appropriate landscape architecture elements, associated with architectural and historical values, promoting the value of the relic of the Central Imperial Citadel of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Dinh Toan also emphasized that this planning has special significance, contributing to promoting the historical, cultural, artistic, planning, and unique urban architectural values of the nation.
At the same time, preserving and honoring the image of the historic capital area, contributing to perfecting the landscape architecture space for the Ba Dinh Political Center area.
The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi is a special national relic and a world cultural heritage with outstanding global historical, cultural and architectural values.
Having gone through many historical changes in different periods, the relic site has now become an important historical and cultural highlight of the capital and an attractive destination for tourists when coming to Hanoi./.
