Ms. NTT in Thanh Vinh Ward (Nghe An) asked: Can citizens request confirmation and provide immigration information at the commune-level police where they are permanently or temporarily residing? If so, how is the procedure carried out?
Reply:
According to Decision No. 8258/QD-BCA-QLXNC signed and issued by the Minister of Public Security on October 8, 2025, promulgating new, amended, supplemented and abolished administrative procedures in the field of immigration management, Vietnamese citizens are now allowed to request confirmation and provide information related to immigration at the commune-level police where they permanently or temporarily reside.
People can submit their applications directly, via the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal or by post to the Commune-level Police to request confirmation and information provision.

Regarding the dossier components, citizens need to submit 01 application for confirmation and provision of immigration information according to the form issued with Decree No. 184/2025/ND-CP dated July 1, 2025 of the Government. Specifically:
- People aged 14 and over use form M03b;
- People under 14 years old use form M04b.
In case the person has lost civil capacity, has difficulty in cognition, behavior control or is under 14 years old, the legal representative shall declare, sign on his/her behalf and submit a copy of the document proving the legal representative status issued by a competent authority of Vietnam. If there is no copy, a photocopy can be submitted but the original must be presented for verification and comparison.
