On the afternoon of March 27, Mr. Nguyen Quang Long, Chief of the Office of the People's Procuracy of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, said that the Vung Tau City Procuracy had just approved the decision to prosecute Mr. Nguyen Khac Thuy (77 years old, residing in Lake Side apartment building, Vung Tau City) for the crime of Child Molestation. Mr. Thuy was released on bail for investigation.

According to the initial investigation, more than 6 months ago, the mother, while confiding in her 7-year-old daughter, was shocked when she heard that the 77-year-old man living in the same apartment building had repeatedly sexually assaulted her. She gave her phone to her daughter to take pictures of the "pervert", then filed a complaint.
In addition to this girl, 4 other families in the apartment building also accused this old man of sexually abusing their children. 7 months ago, Vung Tau City Police initiated a case. For many months, the authorities have not taken any legal action against the suspect, many people think that the case has been "sunk".
Explaining this after the President's directive to clarify the case soon, Mr. Nguyen Anh Doan (Chief of Vung Tau People's Procuracy) said that the police investigation agency had proposed to approve the prosecution of the accused man, but the Institute found that there was not enough basis, so it returned the file for further investigation.
Recently, after reviewing the case file, the Supreme People's Procuracy said that there was sufficient basis and requested the local police investigation agency to prosecute the defendant./.
