Life in the blockade area in Hung Dung ward, Vinh city
(Baonghean.vn) - In addition to ensuring strict security at checkpoints, attention is also paid to stabilizing the mindset of people in the blockaded area in Hung Dung ward (Vinh city), where a Covid-19 case was detected on the evening of June 15.
After the infection appearedCovid-19On the second day of the incident in Hung Dung ward on the night of June 15, the Provincial People's Committee decided to block off the entire residential area located between Nguyen Phong Sac - Ngo Quyen - Phung Khac Khoan - Nguyen Gia Thieu streets (including three blocks: Xuan Bac, Xuan Nam and Van Tien of Hung Dung ward) according to Directive 16 of the Prime Minister.

During the night, the local government set up seven checkpoints to control the roads leading to the blockaded area. These positions were staffed by regular police, militia and civil defense forces.
According to Directive 16 (implemented inside the blockade area), complete isolation is required, all people must stay at home, only go out when absolutely necessary and not gather in groups of more than 2 people outside of offices, schools, and hospitals.

Outside the blockade area, the entire Hung Dung ward practices social distancing according toDirective 15, it is also not allowed to organize activities and events gathering 20 people in one room; for areas outside offices, schools, hospitals, gatherings of 10 people or more are not allowed; in public places, people are required to keep a minimum distance of 2 meters; religious and belief establishments are required to stop organizing ceremonies; stop all cultural, sports, and entertainment activities in public places.

In particular, people are advised to limit travel, service businesses are temporarily suspended, only businesses selling essential goods and services are allowed to open to serve the essential needs of people...
According to records, on the morning of May 16, at the checkpoints, in addition to the functional forces on duty, there were occasionally some people who went to supply food and provisions to their relatives inside the blockade area. The delivery was done right at the barrier, people left the supplies on the table and then withdrew, then their relatives would come and pick them up.

Currently, in addition to the Van Tien block area which is completely locked down with 310 households not including students in the boarding houses, the Xuan Nam and Xuan Bac blocks are partially locked down with about 200 households.
Mr. Tran Duy Tien - Head of Van Tien Block, who is in the center of the blockade area, said: Since last night, before there was official information about the Covid-19 case in the area, the block proactively informed the people, and the people themselves have somewhat understood the situation and complied with the blockade regulations. Currently, the block is also reviewing each case that needs help to have an appropriate support plan.

Contacting Mr. Nguyen Khac Nghia - Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Hung Dung Ward, who is also in the blockade area by phone, Mr. Nghia said that because the time of determining the case was too fast, and at night, people in the blockaded area were not well prepared in terms of material and spirit, many people also appeared confused during the time waiting for test results.
Therefore, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of the ward has used the loudspeaker system to continuously inform and reassure the people. In particular, to ensure care for people's lives during the lockdown period, the Steering Committee has also contacted the three blocks of Van Tien, Xuan Nam, Xuan Bac to review and grasp information about poor households and single-parent households to have support plans.

Currently, according to Mr. Nghia, benefactors have also supported the forces at the checkpoints through the Vietnam Fatherland Front channel. In addition, if the blockade is long-term, there will also be necessary support for people in the blockaded areas.
