Forest fire in Nam Dan has been controlled.
(Baonghean.vn) - After many hours of efforts by local authorities and forces to put out the forest fire, at around 5:00 a.m. this morning (July 13), the fire in the pine forest in Thuong Tan Loc commune, Nam Dan was controlled.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee said: At 5:00 a.m. on July 13, Nam Dan District and other forces extinguished the forest fire in Nam Dan. Previously, on July 12, there were times when the forces controlled the forest fire, but due to strong winds, the forest fire spread again and burned all night, the high column of fire made firefighting very difficult for the forces.
Last night,Nam Dan district mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers from Brigade 414, Military School of Military Region 4, D13, along with Nghe An Provincial Forest Rangers and Forest Ranger Sub-Department of Region 2. Provincial police mobilized 5 fire trucks to stand guard in residential areas.
The forces worked all night to control the forest fire. By 5am on July 13, the fire was basically contained and extinguished. Currently, the authorities have assigned people to keep watch and proactively prevent the risk of the fire breaking out again.
Authorities are calculating the damage and investigating the cause of the forest fire in Nam Dan.
