The unique festival at Ba Chua Temple on the banks of the Lam River.

The Ba Chua Temple Festival (Thanh Chuong) is not only an occasion to commemorate the merits of Saint Mother Lieu Hanh and other deities, but also contributes to preserving, promoting, and spreading the heritage values of our ancestors.

bna_1(1).jpg — The Ba Chua Temple – a provincial-level historical and cultural relic – is located on the banks of the Lam River in Thanh Dong 2 village, Dung town (Thanh Chuong district). It was built by the local people a long time ago. The temple comprises many structures such as the temple gate, lower hall, middle hall, left wing, right wing, and upper hall, possessing an ancient and sacred beauty. The ritual offering to the deities is a significant highlight of the 2025 Ba Chua Temple Festival, organized solemnly and respectfully with many traditional ceremonies (drumming, offering incense, offering wine, bowing, reciting blessings...). Previously, at the temple, on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month, the people of Thanh Dong commune solemnly held the commemoration ceremony for Mother Lieu Hanh, and every five years, the locality organized a festival with many lively cultural and sports activities. After the merger of Thanh Dong commune into Dung town, this is the first festival organized by the town. Photo: Huy Thu

Along with the ritual offerings, during the three days of the festival from March 29th to March 31st (corresponding to the 1st to 3rd days of the 3rd lunar month), the Ba Chua Temple hosted many attractive cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, drawing large numbers of locals and tourists to participate and cheer.
