Previously, Mr. Truong Cong Suu - Head of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Dien Chau district said that on average, each year this locality opens 20 - 30 vocational training classes such as cultivation, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, etc. In particular, with the advantage of having 4 garment enterprises in the district, the district's vocational training center has cooperated with enterprises to train in sewing, after which all workers have jobs.

Speaking at the meeting, he recalled the story of "a commune with 600 people registering for the pig castration profession"Cited by the press at the national conference on vocational training for rural workers, during a meeting with the People's Committee of Dien Chau district, the head of the poverty reduction monitoring delegation of the Provincial People's Council, Le Hong Vinh, emphasized the importance of vocational training being linked to employment and suggested that the locality should continue to do better in vocational training, especially for poor households.

According to statistics of Dien Chau District People's Committee, in the period 2012 - 2016, the whole district had 306 poor people supported with vocational training with a total cost of more than 210 million VND.

Regarding general poverty reduction work, the head of the Provincial People's Council's supervision delegation requested Dien Chau district to pay more attention to implementing the National Target Program on Hunger Eradication and Poverty Reduction; at the same time, complete the report to the Provincial People's Council based on the opinions at the meeting, including reporting specifically on poverty reduction policies such as: support for model replication; results of socialization implementation...

The Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council also emphasized that the district needs to coordinate more closely between sectors and levels; have new solutions and approaches; propagate to strongly change, raise awareness of the poor; pay more attention to improving the capacity of cadres working on poverty reduction at commune and district levels; link policies; promote support activities for poor and near-poor households.

In particular, emphasizing that according to statistics by the end of 2016, Dien Chau's near-poor household rate was nearly 3 times higher than the poor household rate, comrade Le Hong Vinh suggested that the district should carefully review near-poor households because this is an index that can affect the implementation of sustainable poverty reduction.

Previously, Vice Chairman of Dien Chau District People's Committee Pham Xuan Sanh said that in the period of 2012 - 2015, the total budget mobilized to implement the poverty reduction program in Dien Chau was more than 403.5 billion VND. By the end of 2016, this locality had 2,830 poor households, a rate of 3.63%. However, the rate of near-poor households accounted for 9.05%, equivalent to 7,067 households.
