Happened the day before
Regarding the incidents of commune officials making negative comments on people's personal records in Hai Duong, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, and Quang Ngai just because their families still owed contributions, Deputy Dang Thuan Phong said: This is not something that just happened now, it has happened before. He gave an example from his own case.
“In 1982, when I applied for admission to school, the Chief of the Commune Police (due to personal matters) severely criticized my record as “the family did not comply with the Party and State’s policies and guidelines”. I was very sad, but when I got home, my father encouraged me and as time passed, I felt less anxious. Before me, my older sister also had her record criticized,” said Delegate Phong.

The case of a commune official making negative comments on a citizen's personal history has caused public outrage. |
According to Deputy Dang Thuan Phong, the act of making negative comments on the records of commune officials in recent cases is due to perception.
“They do not understand their authority, so they act emotionally, thinking that criticizing like that is to put pressure on that citizen’s family. They do not think that doing so seriously affects the political life and professional life of others. Currently, social conditions are increasingly developing, human rights and civil rights are always guaranteed according to the spirit of the Constitution, so the way of criticizing the personal records of commune officials like the recent cases is unacceptable,” said Delegate Phong.
Strictly handle violating officials
Delegate Dang Thuan Phong added that it is necessary to study whether procedures for people to go to school or apply for jobs need to be confirmed and stamped by the local authority as is currently done. If it is deemed unnecessary, it can be removed to avoid administrative procedures for people.
Delegate Phong said that officials who commit violations when approving people's personal records need to be severely punished to set an example, not just apologize.
