The congress of Catholic delegates to build and protect the Fatherland in Quynh Luu district was a great success.

Attending the congress were Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Phan Hai Thanh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee, leaders of Quynh Luu district, relevant departments and branches; representatives of the District Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, Fatherland Front Committees of Dien Chau, Yen Thanh, Nghia Dan, Nghi Loc districts, Hoang Mai town, Cua Lo town, Fatherland Front Committees of communes and towns and 96 typical delegates representing parishes and religious groups in the district.

During the past term, promoting the spirit of patriotism, accompanying and uniting with the nation, the Catholic people of Quynh Luu district actively participated in implementing patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the State and the Fatherland Front, promoting humanitarian charity activities, and strictly implementing the policies and laws of the Party and State.

In particular, the economic development emulation movement is increasingly expanding and bringing about efficiency. Up to now, in the Catholic region, there have been 912 good economic development models in the fields of animal husbandry, business, services, seafood exploitation and processing with an income of over 250 million VND/year.

Responding to the movement "All people unite to build new countryside and civilized urban areas", Catholics have voluntarily donated land, cleared land, contributed money and working days to build rural roads, build new and renovate village cultural houses, build schools, "Great Unity" flag roads, plant flower and tree roads, install lighting systems and many churches and parish houses have been newly built or upgraded.

As a result, over the past 5 years, more than 1,950 households have donated land with more than 62,000 m²residential and agricultural land, dismantling 365 constructions and nearly 7,000m of surrounding walls, contributing over 25.6 billion VND and 47,800 working days to build new rural areas.

The Congress also spent a lot of time discussing, analyzing and evaluating the shortcomings and limitations in the patriotic emulation movement of Catholic compatriots in the district in the past time, thereby drawing out the causes and lessons learned, proposing directions, goals, specific targets and solutions for implementation in the 2022-2027 term.

The congress organized consultations to elect the District Catholic Solidarity Committee, term VIII, 2022-2027, consisting of 35 people, and elected 13 representatives to attend the Congress of Delegates of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee, term 2022-2027.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district awarded 1 collective and 13 individuals and the Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Luu district awarded 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement of Catholics in the period 2017-2022.
