Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland presents ventilators to Nghe An General Friendship Hospital
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 10, within the framework of a visit and working session in Nghe An, a delegation from the Polish Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Wojciech Gerwel presented two ventilators to Nghe An General Hospital.

Attending the handover ceremony, on behalf of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Health.
Speaking at the ceremony, Polish Ambassador Wojciech Gerwel affirmed that over the past 70 years, the relationship between Vietnam and Poland has grown stronger and stronger, with many projects and activities becoming symbols of bilateral friendship, including Nghe An General Friendship Hospital.

During his 10 years working in Vietnam, Mr. Wojciech Gerwel had the opportunity to visit Nghe An General Hospital, but on this return, he was impressed by the hospital's remarkable development and shared joy with the unit when it was honored to be recognized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health as the final hospital in terms of technical expertise in the North Central region in April 2021.
Expressing admiration and gratitude for the dedicated contributions and great responsibilities of the health sector in general and the medical staff at Nghe An General Hospital in particular, especially in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland pledged to propose to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue to have more practical support for the hospital in the coming time.

On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa thanked and appreciated the precious sentiments of the Government and people of Poland for Nghe An province, continuously giving meaningful gifts of necessary medical equipment for many years, supporting the healthcare of newborns and children at Nghe An General Hospital. He requested the hospital's leaders and staff, after receiving the gift of 2 ventilators from the Polish Embassy, to effectively use this meaningful gift to better serve patients.

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa also expressed his wish to continue to foster and promote the bilateral relationship with Poland to develop strongly and sustainably in the coming time, connecting and maintaining cooperation with Polish partners and businesses, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life of Nghe An people. At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the Ambassador and members of the delegation to study Nghe An province's proposal on scholarships for the hospital's medical staff, opening up opportunities for in-depth research and improving expertise and professionalism.

At the ceremony, the two sides signed a handover record of two Puritan Bennet 560 ventilators worth 540 million VND, a project funded under the Development Assistance Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
On the same day, the Polish Embassy delegation visited and worked at Vinh University. Here, after being introduced to the scale, training programs, vision and development orientation of Vinh University, the Polish Ambassador emphasized that science and education are important priorities in the bilateral cooperation between Poland and Vietnam, which the Embassy hopes to continue to develop further in the coming time.

The delegation also informed the school's staff and students about a number of scholarship programs, Polish language courses... and expected prospects for cooperation with Vinh University, contributing to the faster development of this educational institution.
