US Ambassador visits Emperor Quang Trung Temple
(Baonghean.vn) - US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink offered incense and visited Emperor Quang Trung Temple at Quyet Mountain, Vinh City as part of his visit and work in Nghe An.

At Emperor Quang Trung Temple, the US Ambassador to Vietnam and leaders of Nghe An province respectfully offered incense to the spirit of the Vietnamese hero.
Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink was interested in learning about the historical period related to this Emperor, viewing the exhibition room, the Emperor's writings, as well as the newly collected weapons displayed at the temple.
Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue was born and raised in the context of feudal dynasties fighting for power, the country was divided, and the people were miserable and destitute.
With his genius military strategy and the support of people everywhere, the hero Nguyen Hue raised an uprising, commanded the Tay Son army to overthrow the feudal groups Trinh and Nguyen, contributing to the unification of the North and South of Dai Viet at that time.

In particular, in the spring of the year Ky Dau 1789, with a lightning-fast march to the capital Thang Long, Emperor Quang Trung led the insurgents to defeat 290,000 invading Manchu (Chinese) troops, establishing the great victory of Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da, a miracle in the history of the struggle to protect the country of the Vietnamese people.
Sharing his thoughts when visiting this historical site, Mr. Daniel J. Kritenbrink expressed his respect and admiration for the cloth hero and outstanding military genius of Vietnam.
