On November 29, the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States held a reception to celebrate the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership and APEC Vietnam 2017. Many officials in the US government and agencies that contributed to the success of US President Donald Trump's visit to Vietnam attended the event.
Speaking at the reception, Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh highlighted the achievements in the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the United States in recent times, especially the official visit to Vietnam by President Donald Trump on the occasion of attending the APEC Summit in Da Nang. Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh emphasized that the results of the visit were concretized through a joint statement deepening the comprehensive partnership between the two countries. Representatives of US government officials also congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the APEC Summit and APEC 2017, and expressed hope that bilateral relations will continue to be strengthened in the coming years.
“What impressed me most about President Trump’s visit to Vietnam was the deep and extensive relationship between the two countries,” said US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink. “The development of the US-Vietnam comprehensive partnership was demonstrated by the leaders of the two countries at a joint press conference on November 11. The two sides discussed cooperation in a number of areas such as security, economics, trade, people-to-people exchange, and overcoming the consequences of war.”
Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh and Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink also pledged to do their best to bring the relationship between the two countries to a new height./.
