(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of the 6th day of the Lunar New Year (February 2, 2017), Nghe An Tourism Association, Nghe An Department of Tourism in collaboration with Saigon Tourist Corporation, Saigon Binh Tay Beer Joint Stock Company organized a Banh Chung offering ceremony at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan - Uncle Ho's mother, on Dai Hue mountain, in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district.
Attending the incense offering ceremony were comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Vietnam Tourism Association, Nghe An Tourism Association, Nghe An Department of Tourism, Department of Culture and Sports, Nghe An Tourism Promotion Center, Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, representatives of the Nguyen Sinh and Hoang families in Kim Lien, along with a large number of people and tourists attending the ceremony.

The event of offering green Chung cake to honor Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan is not only a cultural beauty with the meaning of educating the tradition of "Drinking water, remember the source" for the young generation but also contributes to propagating and promoting the beautiful image of the country and people of Nghe An to promote and encourage tourism activities in Nghe An to develop more and more.

This is the 5th year that the Chung cake offering ceremony at Hoang Thi Loan's tomb on the morning of January 6th has been held. The ceremony consists of 4 parts: Chung cake wrapping contest and art performances, lion dance to welcome; Chung cake offering and incense offering at Hoang Thi Loan's tomb; cutting and distributing Chung cake to beneficiaries in Nam Giang commune and sharing Chung cake fortune with everyone in Vinh city.
This year's Chung cake offering includes two giant Chung cakes measuring 1m x 1m x 0.25m, each weighing 300kg, traditionally wrapped in dong leaves and sticky rice.

It is known that in the coming years, the Tourism Association, Nghe An Department of Tourism and tourism businesses in the area will continue to promote the ceremony of offering banh chung to the spirit of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan - mother of President Ho Chi Minh to become a spiritual tourism product for pilgrims to Nghe An.
