Offering incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the Soviet Nghe Tinh

(Baonghean.vn)- On the occasion of the 86th anniversary of Nghe Tinh Soviet Day (September 12, 1930 - September 12, 2016), on the afternoon of September 7, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee held an incense and flower offering ceremony at the Nghe Tinh Soviet Relic Site, Thai Lao Town, Hung Nguyen District.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors and representatives of Hung Nguyen district leaders.

The delegation of Nghe An province led by comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee offered incense and flowers at the Nghe Tinh Soviet Relic Site.

The delegation offered incense and flowers at the Nghe Tinh Soviet Memorial, expressing their deep gratitude for the heroic sacrifice and great contributions of the Nghe Tinh Soviet heroes and martyrs.

86 years ago, under the direct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, for the first time in the history of the nation, about 8,000 people representing the working class and farmers from the three communes of Phu Long, Thong Lang (Hung Nguyen) and Nam Kim (Nam Dan) stood side by side in the protest struggle for national liberation and class liberation.

Comrades Nguyen Xuan Duong and Nguyen Van Thong respectfully burned incense to commemorate the sons of Nghe Tinh who fell in the struggle for national independence.

The protest was led by the Vinh Provincial Committee, directly by comrades Le Doan Su and Nguyen Phuc. Despite heavy rain and threats, the group of people with red flags in the lead, flanked by red militia armed with knives and sticks, still maintained their ranks and marched towards Hung Nguyen district capital.

When approaching Vinh, the number of protesters had reached 30,000, lining up for 4 km. When arriving at Thai Lao, the enemy sent 2 planes to bomb and open fire on the protesters, killing 217 people and injuring 125 others.

86 years have passed, but the echoes of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement and the demonstration on September 12, 1930 still resound. The names and heroic spirit of the martyrs have become symbols of patriotism and self-sacrifice for a great cause of the people of Nghe An.

With deep respect and gratitude, in front of the historical Nghe Tinh Soviet memorial monument, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh and provincial leaders laid a flower basket and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the revolutionary cause, for the independence and freedom of the nation.

On behalf of the Party Committee and people of the province, the provincial leaders pledged to always uphold the heroic tradition and the spirit of uprising of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement; continue to unite, be creative, join hands, and focus on exploiting all resources to build the province to be increasingly civilized and prosperous.
