A man drowned while swimming at night on Lam River.
(Baonghean.vn) - After nearly 3 hours of searching the river, people recovered the victim's body. The drowning incident happened at night in Khanh Son commune (Nam Dan).
According to locals, on the night of July 23, Vo Van Tien (41 years old), residing in Hamlet 6, Khanh Son Commune, and some friends were sitting on a boat anchored on the banks of the Lam River in the Van Ru ferry area.
At 8:30 p.m., Mr. Tien jumped into the river to swim. When he was discovered drowning, people around organized a search and rescue operation.
However, this is a deep river and it is dark, so the search is difficult. The method of using a fishing line to trawl the river was deployed. At about 11pm the same day, people recovered his body near the place where he drowned.
It is known that Mr. Tien has a leg disability and cannot swim.
