Dien Chauis one of the districts where African swine fever is spreading quite a lot at this time. Mr. Nguyen Trong Bon - Director of the Agricultural Service Center of Dien Chau district said: Currently, African swine fever is occurring in 86 villages, hamlets, 23 communes: Dien Loc, Dien Nguyen, Dien Thai, Minh Chau, Dien Phu, Dien Tho, Dien Dong, Dien Quang, Dien Thanh... the number of pigs destroyed due to the disease is 1,101, with a total weight of nearly 68 tons of live pigs.
"Previously, the disease occurred in both porkers, sows and breeding pigs, but recently, the disease has mainly occurred in pregnant sows or those that have just given birth. However, it mainly occurs in small-scale farms," said Mr. Nguyen Trong Bon.
In the districtYen Thanh, African swine fever is occurring in 32/39 communes and towns. Mr. Le Van Hong - Head of the District's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that from September 13 to now, African swine fever has occurred in 416 small-scale farming households in 146 hamlets, belonging to 32 communes, with 1,592 pigs destroyed, with a total weight of nearly 78 tons.

Mr. Ngo Duc Quynh - Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine said: Currently, African swine fever is occurring in 18 districts and towns; only 3 districts are free of the epidemic, including: Ky Son, Nghia Dan and Cua Lo town.
"At the end of the year, we will need a lot of pork for Tet, while pork prices are unstable, in conditions where small-scale pig farming is not guaranteed.biosafetyFarmers need to pay attention to disease prevention to ensure the safety of pigs. For other livestock, winter is coming, people need to cover and clean barns, and proactively reserve food sources for cattle.
