Forum 'Innovation and improvement of the effectiveness of propaganda work for Party congresses at all levels'
On the morning of September 28, implementing the cooperation and twinning program between three Party newspapers: Hanoi Moi, Thua Thien - Hue and Saigon Giai Phong, Hanoi Moi Newspaper hosted the Forum "Innovation, improving the effectiveness of propaganda work for Party congresses at all levels" in Hanoi Capital.
Attending the Forum, on the Central side were Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy; Vice President of the Digital Media Association, Former Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Ho Quang Loi; Deputy Director of the Press Department - Ministry of Information and Communications Mai Huong Giang; Deputy Director of the Press and Publishing Department, Central Propaganda Department Vu Quy Cuong; Deputy Head of the Party Building Department - Communist Magazine Nguyen Hoang Viet; General Director of the Central Press Distribution Company Cao Dinh Hanh; former Director of the Press Department Hoang Huu Luong.
The forum was attended by nearly 20 Party press agencies from provinces and cities across the country and the Hanoi capital press.
Attending the forum, on the side of Nghe An Newspaper, there was comrade Tran Van Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Editor-in-Chief; representatives of leaders of the newspaper's specialized departments and offices.
Declaring the reason for holding the forum, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper Lai Ba Ha said that on October 8, 1960, at the Ba Dinh Club - Hanoi, the twinning ceremony between the three cities of Hanoi - Hue - Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) was held in a warm and affectionate atmosphere.
Promoting the tradition of "Hanoi - Hue - Saigon, like a tree with the same root, like children of the same family", on July 7, 2017, in Hue city, Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Thua Thien Hue Newspaper, and Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper held a twinning ceremony, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on twinning and cooperation. Since then, every year, the three newspapers have organized forums to share experiences and work together to better fulfill their assigned tasks.
This year's program takes place in Hanoi, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. This is also an occasion for the entire Party to actively implement Directive No. 35-CT/TW dated June 14, 2024 of the Politburo on Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Journalist Nguyen Minh Duc - Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper said that the 13th National Party Congress has determined the direction of Party building work during the term as: "Strengthening the work of Party building and rectification in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres; improving the leadership capacity, governing capacity, fighting strength of the Party and the effectiveness and efficiency of State management". In the work of Party building, the press plays a particularly important role, that is, the press propagates and disseminates the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's legal policies in general, and in particular in the field of Party building work, political education for cadres, party members and people to imbue them with the Party's ideology, viewpoints, policies and guidelines... Therefore, our Party always highly appreciates the position and role of the press in Party building work.
According to journalist Nguyen Minh Duc, in recent times, the local Party newspaper system has attached importance to reflecting on the issue of Party building; improving the quality and effectiveness of propaganda in newspapers in general, and works written on the issue of Party building in particular. Newspapers have made strong innovations in the content and methods of reflecting on the work of Party building, showing a tight, systematic, yet creative and flexible organization, demonstrating a proactive spirit, "taking the lead" when reflecting on the issue of Party building, guiding other press agencies as well as readers.
Newspapers have promoted the application of technology in the process of creating press works, creating favorable conditions for reporters to work, especially reporting on the leadership and direction of the Party Central Committee and Party committees at all levels; building close relationships with Party committees and functional agencies in this field, thereby obtaining fast, accurate and timely information sources to convey to readers. Thereby, newspapers have actively propagated the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, contributing to creating consensus in society, strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State; actively participating in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; protecting the Party's ideological foundation; discovering, encouraging and promoting new models and factors, creating revolutionary action movements in all fields...
“During the Party Congresses at all levels, the 14th National Party Congress, the local Party newspaper system needs to focus on informing and propagating the meaning and importance of the Congress; the theme and motto of the Congress; the responsibilities of delegates attending the Congress... At the same time, inform and propagate about the democratic atmosphere in the Congress and the unity within the Party, the consensus of society, and the interest of the international community in the Congress,” journalist Nguyen Minh Duc shared.
At the forum, journalist Nguyen Minh Duc informed that with Hanoi Moi Newspaper, the Party newspaper of the Capital, propaganda for Party building work is always determined to be the key task, the "soul", the "specialty" of the newspaper. Columns and pages: "Bringing the Party's resolutions into life"; "Party building"; "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation" are regularly maintained by the newspaper. In addition, the newspaper has opened columns: "Build and Fight"; "Follow Uncle Ho's example", assigning reporters to closely follow the breath of life, improve the quality of propaganda, use "build" to "fight", use the good to push back the bad, use the positive to overwhelm the negative, contributing to building a clean and strong Party.
To promote the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 18th Congress of the City Party Committee and the 14th Congress of the Party, the Hanoi Moi Newspaper has issued a framework and detailed plans for each period. It sets out three goals in promoting the Party Congresses at all levels. Speaking at the forum, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy welcomed the three newspapers: Hanoi Moi, Thua Thien Hue, and Saigon Giai Phong for agreeing to choose the topic: "Innovation, improving the effectiveness of propaganda work for Party Congresses at all levels" to discuss and exchange at the right time when Party organizations nationwide are urgently implementing Directive No. 35-CT/TW on organizing Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Contributing more opinions to the Forum, comrade Phan Xuan Thuy emphasized a number of key issues related to the propaganda work for party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress to discuss and reach common and valuable perceptions. In particular, the requirements for the press in general and the Party newspaper system in particular are: Propaganda work must ensure the correct political and ideological orientation, especially for important, complex and sensitive issues; propaganda in many rich and diverse forms, with focus and key points; proactively update and closely follow the progress, preparation and organization process of party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.
At the same time, it is necessary to ensure regularity and continuity of propaganda, promote persuasiveness, quality and effectiveness, and create a widespread influence throughout the Party and society. Orient, contribute to good organization, motivate, and gather the intelligence, enthusiasm and responsibility of cadres, party members and people from all walks of life to contribute ideas to the draft documents of party congresses at all levels and the documents of the 14th National Party Congress.
In particular, promoting the role of Party newspapers in propagating Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy made four proposals.
