Investigating the cause of forest fire in Nam Dan
(Baonghean.vn) - According to initial information, authorities are detaining a number of suspects of causing forest fires for investigation.
As reported, the forest fire in Thuong Tan Loc commune, Nam Dan district broke out at 10am on July 12 and was not controlled until 5am on July 13.The forest fire in Thuong Tan Loc commune, Nam Dan district was initially determined to have burned about 10 hectares of forest, mainly acacia pine area.
Mr. Nguyen Canh Loc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Tan Loc commune said: At the time of the forest fire, there were 4 workers who were surveying the power line in the forest of Thuong Tan Loc commune smoking and throwing cigarette butts on the forest ground. This could be the cause of the forest fire yesterday (July 12) in Nam Dan.
When the 4 people left the forest area by motorbike, they were discovered and detained by local people, and handed over to the commune authorities. The People's Committee handed over these people to the district police for investigation according to regulations.
Currently, the cause of the forest fire in Nam Dan is being investigated.
