(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 27, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee led the provincial delegation to have a working session with the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Office on a number of contents related to the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.
Attending the meeting were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; leaders of the Provincial Police, Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Construction, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Home Affairs.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also informed Bishop Alphonse Nguyen Huu Long about some basic results of the province's socio-economic development in recent times and emphasized that to achieve such remarkable achievements, in addition to the efforts of the political system at all levels and the entire people, there are very important contributions from dignitaries, officials, monks and nuns and Catholic compatriots in the province.

Informing Bishop Alphonse Nguyen Huu Long about the event of the Festival "Voters nationwide actively participate in the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, term 2021-2026" on May 23, 2021, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that this is an important event for voters to exercise their rights and obligations, wisely choose people who are exemplary in virtue and talent, worthy of representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people to be elected to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
In this election, there are 567 Catholic candidates in the People's Council at the commune level; 33 in the People's Council at the district level; and 3/138 in the People's Council at the provincial level. The participation of Catholic candidates reflects the spirit of the message of Pope Francis and the Vatican when encouraging the Catholic community in Vietnam that "good Catholics are also good citizens".
For the election to be successful, truly a festival for all people, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes and believes that under the leadership and direction of Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, priests and voters who are Catholic compatriots in the province and voters nationwide will enthusiastically and actively participate in the Election Day of the XV National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

At the same time, it is recommended that Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long and the Office of the Bishop's Office pay attention to reminding and directing a number of dignitaries and voters who are Catholic compatriots in parishes to properly exercise their rights and obligations as citizens and actively go to the polls.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic and requested the Bishop's Office to direct religious establishments to continue to limit unnecessary events and activities with large crowds; in case of organization, they must strictly implement safety measures, strictly implement the 5K requirements of the Ministry of Health... in accordance with regulations. Thereby, firmly maintaining the achievements in epidemic prevention and control, successfully implementing the dual goal, and best protecting people's health.
