Nghe An Provincial Bar Association held the 10th Congress for the 2024 - 2029 term

Provided legal services for 5,112 cases

With the attention and direction of the Ministry of Justice, Vietnam Bar Federation, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, in the period of 2019 - 2024, Nghe An Provincial Bar Association has achieved many important results.

Up to this point, Nghe An Provincial Bar Association has 67 practicing organizations, including 45 law offices and 22 law firms, an increase of 31 practicing organizations (86%) compared to the previous term.

Of which, the number of member lawyers and law trainees is 280 with 215 lawyers and 65 trainees, an increase of 88 people (70%) compared to the beginning of the 9th term. The number of lawyers has increased along with the quality gradually being affirmed to meet the needs of society for legal services.

Lawyers have invested their efforts and intelligence in researching files and collecting evidence to participate in defending and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of clients in all criminal, civil, economic, administrative and labor fields with 5,112 cases.

In addition, the Nghe An Provincial Bar Association has actively contributed to legal documents and resolutions requested by the Bar Federation, the National Assembly Delegation, and the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council. During its term, the Association has contributed opinions on more than 100 legal documents and other documents as requested by agencies. At the same time, it has coordinated with relevant units to provide free legal advice to more than 1,000 people.

The results achieved by the Nghe An Provincial Bar Association in the past term have contributed to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, protecting socialist legal system, propagating and disseminating laws, providing legal aid, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

Actively build a culture of professional conduct

At the congress, Nghe An Provincial Bar Association agreed on the direction and tasks for the 2024 - 2029 term with specific action programs.

Speaking at the congress, Lawyer, Dr. Do Ngoc Thinh - President of the Vietnam Bar Federation acknowledged the results that the Nghe An Provincial Bar Association has achieved. At the same time, he requested the Nghe An Provincial Bar Association to continue to strictly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. Strengthen the team of lawyers, ensure quantity and quality, pay attention to training, improve professional qualifications and professional ethics to meet general requirements..

The President of the Vietnam Bar Federation also hopes that the Bar Federation will promote the spirit of solidarity, democracy, intelligence and responsibility, continue to contribute more actively, proactively and effectively to the work of law-making, propaganda, dissemination and education of law, contribute to the cause of judicial reform and the building of the socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Dang Kim Hoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Judicial Support, Ministry of Justice, hoped that the new Executive Committee would have closer supervision over the professional activities of lawyers and the spirit of solidarity in the Bar Association. Thereby, actively improving professional ethics, building the prestigious image of the Bar Association towards local authorities and people. Pay attention to the work of periodic political and ideological education for lawyers in the Bar Association; develop a plan to establish a Party organization in the Bar Association combined with developing and building new Party members from young lawyers. Contribute to demonstrating the leadership role of the Party in association organizations, at the same time strengthening and consolidating the construction of grassroots Party organizations and improving the quality of Party members in the new period.

Pay attention to building a customer service culture, professional conduct culture, and speaking culture to create a connection between lawyers and the Bar Association. Actively build a culture of criticism and self-criticism to create a healthy and standard legal environment.

At the same time, improve the quality of legal services to better serve the needs of people and businesses at home and abroad. Strengthen the organization of forums between lawyers and businesses as well as foreign investors in Vietnam.

Strengthening ties with the Department of Justice to attract young and dynamic lawyers to participate in spreading the project "Improving the quality and effectiveness of legal support for businesses in the period of 2021 - 2030" developed by the Ministry of Justice. Thereby, strengthening legal support for small and medium enterprises; identifying difficulties and obstacles of businesses to discuss and work with state agencies on legal support for businesses in the area. Actively promoting the role of lawyers in solving complex problems in the locality, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area. At the same time, helping people access the law, especially people in remote areas...

At the Congress, representatives of the Provincial Bar Association also awarded certificates of merit and medals to lawyers who had achievements in building and developing the Bar Association during the 9th term.

The congress elected a Board of Directors consisting of 7 members, in which Lawyer Ho Xuan Hop was elected as Chairman of the Provincial Bar Association for the 10th term (2024-2029). At the congress, the Provincial Bar Association also elected delegates to attend the 4th National Congress of Lawyers.
