(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 23, the National Defense and Security Education Council of Nghe An province held a conference to summarize the work of 2015 and deploy tasks for 2016. Comrade Le Xuan Dai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Education Council of the province chaired the conference.

Conference to review the results of the first year of implementing the Law on National Defense and Security Education.

In 2015 - the first year of implementing the Law on National Defense and Security Education, this work was seriously led, directed and implemented by Party committees, authorities, and National Defense and Security Education Councils from the provincial to local levels. The activities of the National Defense and Security Education Councils at all levels were organized and had practical effects.

Comrade Dau Van Thanh, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, proposed to innovate the form of education for the subjects.

The work of national defense and security education has achieved high results compared to the plan. Accordingly: During the year, the Provincial Council for National Defense and Security Education conducted surveys, management, and assigned subjects 2, 3, and 4 to participate in training courses on national defense and security; opened a number of training courses on national defense and security for village elders, clan leaders, dignitaries, and religious officials.

Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department, suggested improving the quality of training and supplementing knowledge for teachers and lecturers.

In addition, the Councils at all levels effectively carried out legal propaganda work, with 11,000 union members, youth and students participating. In addition, the dissemination of national defense and security knowledge to the entire population was focused on and implemented by Party committees and authorities at all levels, contributing to raising people's awareness of revolutionary vigilance against the plots and tricks of hostile forces. During the year, the Provincial Youth Union also coordinated with relevant units to successfully organize a military semester course for 350 students.

Colonel Ha Tan Tien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, suggested the need to develop appropriate lectures, rich in content, and close to reality.

To improve the quality of national defense and security education, the province has focused on training and fostering the team of teachers teaching national defense and security education in schools. Currently, the team of teachers teaching national defense and security education in the province has 351 people, with sufficient staff, well meeting the teaching needs at 117 universities, colleges, intermediate schools and high schools.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung expressed the view that it is necessary to maintain and promote the value and meaning of the "Military Semester" program.

Comrade Ho Quang Thanh, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Nghe An province, proposed to further promote the fight against and criticism of distorted arguments of hostile forces on mass media.

At the conference, members of the Provincial Council for National Defense and Security Education, representatives of departments, branches and sectors focused on analyzing and clarifying the achieved results, existing limitations as well as giving advice and suggestions for national defense and security education in 2016 to achieve better results.

In 2016, the province's national defense and security tasks in general and national defense and security education in particular require attention, direction and close coordination from all levels and sectors.

Comrade Le Xuan Dai, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the need to strengthen the leadership of Party committees and authorities at all levels; the management capacity of the State from the province to the grassroots level in national defense and security education.
