The tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, Uncle Ho’s mother, is located on the top of Dong Tranh mountain, in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district. Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan (1868 – 1901) was an exemplary woman, devoted to her husband and children.
After her husband Nguyen Sinh Sac went to Hue to take the imperial examination, she and her husband walked with their two sons to the capital to help him study, and reluctantly sent their eldest daughter Nguyen Thi Thanh to Nghe An to help take care of her grandparents Hoang Xuan Duong. In Hue, she worked hard, exhausted herself to support the whole family. After giving birth to her fourth child, Nguyen Sinh Xin, Hoang Thi Loan fell ill and passed away in 1901 (at the age of 33), while her husband and eldest son Nguyen Sinh Khiem were in Thanh Hoa. In Hue at that time, only Nguyen Tat Thanh, 11 years old, took charge of the funeral with the support of the villagers to bury his mother as Tet was approaching.
In 1922, her eldest daughter Nguyen Thi Thanh brought her remains back to be buried in her garden in Lang Sen, Kim Lien commune. In 1941, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Khiem reburied his mother's remains at Dong Tranh mountain in Dai Hue range.
