Comrade Nguyen Van Thong visited and wished a happy New Year in the mountainous district of Con Cuong
(Baonghean.vn) - Preparing to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation, on the morning of January 31, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited and wished a Happy New Year to a number of units and families in Con Cuong district.

Also attending were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Ethnic Committee, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, and leaders of Con Cuong district.
The provincial delegation visited, encouraged and wished a happy new year to the officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Post. Currently, Mon Son Border Post is assigned to manage and protect more than 29 km of border line and 5 landmarks; at the same time, it is in charge of Mon Son commune with a population of 9,531 people, belonging to 3 ethnic groups, including Thai, Dan Lai and Kinh.

Over the past years, closely following the spirit of direction and requirements of the tasks assigned by superiors, in conjunction with the practical situation of the area, Mon Son Border Guard Station has proactively coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and people and the Lao border protection force to well perform the tasks of patrolling, controlling, firmly protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security, and social order and safety.
In 2023 alone, the unit coordinated with other forces to prevent, combat, and successfully eliminate 02 drug cases and other violations, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area.

Mon Son Border Guard Station also actively participates in building and consolidating the grassroots political system through the role of commune-strengthening cadres and party members working in party cells in border villages and hamlets; building a mass movement to participate in managing and protecting national border security and sovereignty; building and effectively maintaining the activities of 3 Women's Clubs participating in protecting border security and sovereignty.
Officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Guard Station also have many activities to support local socio-economic development. Such as participating in working days to build concrete roads, dredging canals in the fields, harvesting crops, etc.; supporting the construction of livelihood models, the model of "breeding cows and pigs for the poor"; mobilizing the construction of 8 houses for the poor and building 1 kindergarten with a total value of nearly 2.7 billion VND in 2023; implementing the model of "Border Medicine Cabinet", and coordinating with medical facilities to organize free medical examinations and provide medicine for local people.

Many activities to support ethnic minority children to go to school have also been implemented by officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Post. Such as adopting and helping 12 students under the program "Helping children go to school - Border Guard adopted children", "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school"; implementing the model "Accompanying dormitories in border areas" to help Dan Lai ethnic minority students in studying, daily activities and practicing life skills; coordinating with schools to encourage children who have dropped out of school to go to school, take the 10th grade entrance exam and study at vocational schools...
On behalf of the provincial delegation, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong expressed his gratitude, recognition and congratulations to the officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Guard Station for successfully completing their tasks with great spirit, determination and efforts to build the Station; resolutely, persistently and fiercely to stick to the task of protecting the Fatherland's border.
In which, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized the recognition of the unit in performing the important task of protecting the Vietnam-Laos friendship border; protecting the integrity of national sovereignty and territory; continuing to participate in preventing and effectively fighting all types of crimes, including drug crimes in border areas; participating in building the grassroots political system, contributing to enhancing the leadership role of Party committees, management of the government and effective operation of the Fatherland Front and local organizations; effectively implementing mass mobilization work, promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the area.

Understanding and sharing the difficulties, hardships as well as the tasks that the Station is undertaking, ensuring border security in important key areas; Border Guard officers and soldiers are "comprehensive" officers, both soldiers holding guns to protect border security sovereignty, doctors, teachers with "green uniforms", plowmen, transplanters, harvesters guiding and helping people with the harvest season, developing the economy; Comrade Nguyen Van Thong expressed his hope that the officers and soldiers of Mon Son Border Guard Station will continue to train, always be exemplary on the front line of the Fatherland; do well the task of protecting absolute safety, building the Vietnam - Laos border friendship line, continuing to build a strong grassroots political system; strive to excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party and the State.

In Mon Son commune, the provincial delegation visited and wished a happy new year to the family of Mr. Luong Van Duyet, a 1/4 disabled veteran, in Thai Son 2 village; and the family of Mr. Vi Thanh Mao, in Thai Hoa village, a prestigious person among ethnic minorities.


On behalf of the provincial leaders and members of the provincial and Con Cuong district working delegation, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee thanked the individuals for their contributions to the peace of the Fatherland and the development of the homeland. Wishing the individuals and their families good health, a warm and happy Tet Giap Thin; continue to be bright and exemplary examples in the community.
On this occasion, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the working delegation held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate Mr. Vi Van Khang - the first Party cell secretary in the western mountainous region of Nghe An at the relic of Mr. Vi Van Khang's house.


Comrade Nguyen Van Thong also supported Con Cuong district with 1 billion VND from the Provincial Fund for the Poor to build 10 houses for poor households and households with special housing difficulties according to the policy of the Provincial Party Committee and provided Tet gifts to the poor in Con Cuong district; supported Mon Son commune with 400 national flags for people to hang on the occasion of celebrating the Party and celebrating Spring.
