On the morning of January 6, in Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district, the Vietnam Women's Union coordinated with Nghe An province to organize the program "Loving Tet". Attending the program was Comrade Tong Thi Phong - Politburo member, Permanent Vice President of the National Assembly.

Speaking to the leaders of Nghe An province, Quynh Luu district and local people, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong expressed her emotion at having the opportunity to return to visit her hometown Nghe An; at the same time, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, she sent warm regards and New Year wishes to the people and comrades of Nghe An province; wishing them good health, joy, happiness and with high determination to build Nghe An province into a model and successful one.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also emphasized the spirit of turning to the grassroots to care for compatriots and comrades, especially in difficult areas, and expressed gratitude to predecessors, heroic Vietnamese mothers, families with meritorious services to the country, war invalids, and families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and the construction and protection of the Fatherland. From there, together we are determined to implement the Party's resolutions and build a rich and civilized Vietnam.

In 2019, Nghe An achieved better socio-economic development results than previous years. In particular, during the development process, the provincial leaders always paid attention to social security work, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas with many difficulties, and implemented policies for people with meritorious services with many creative ways.
“Nghe An is always a bright spot in implementing social policies,” the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed, adding that many contents of the work of the National Assembly and the Government have been summarized, evaluated, lessons learned, and experiences learned from Nghe An.

In the coming time, the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that Nghe An province continue to promote its revolutionary, solidarity and heroic traditions so that under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the province can be built to become more progressive, as Uncle Ho wished, a model and prosperous province.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented Tet gifts to 2 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; 20 policy families; 50 households of poor women, disabled women, and women with special difficulties; awarded funds to build 5 clean water and sanitation works for 5 households; 30 scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties and achieved good academic results in Quynh Luu district.

The Organizing Committee also donated funds to support the construction of charity houses for 4 households in Nghia Dan, Ky Son, Anh Son, Que Phong districts and supported a livelihood model in Hoang Mai town. On this occasion, Comrade Tong Thi Phong donated 20 million VND to the Education Promotion Association of Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district.
