Mr. Lo Kham Lai - Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ky Son district said: The situation of dumping soil to encroach on the Nam Mo riverbed and illegal house construction is concentrated in communes such as Chieu Luu, Huu Kiem, and Ta Ca. The district regularly inspects and directs localities to strictly prohibit people from dumping soil to encroach on the Nam Mo river to build houses, because living along the river during the rainy season is very dangerous. However, the current difficulty is that many communes have scarce flat land, so people still ignore the danger to build houses.
Currently, Ky Son district is directing communes to review households that need to build houses after separation, and arrange households in areas with planned residential areas to ensure safety and avoid building houses along the river.
