Raid on casino, detained nearly 100 gamblers
During a raid on a Poker casino, authorities discovered nearly 100 gamblers, including many foreigners, organizing gambling, seizing more than half a billion VND and many exhibits.
On May 23, the Criminal Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that it had successfully dismantled a gambling organization in the form of Poker led by Dang Van Quy (born 1973, residing in Dong Nai province).

The police have detained nearly 100 gamblers along with many exhibits such as: 500 million VND, more than 3,000 USD (including the gamblers' money and money at the cashier counter) and thousands of "chips" exchanged for amounts equivalent to hundreds of millions of VND and many related exhibits.
Previously, after a long period of monitoring, at around 7:30 p.m. on May 13, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with the Social Order Administrative Management Police Department and District 3 Police to inspect a gambling spot in the form of Poker cards that could be converted into cash at the Bridge Club and Poker Center on the 9th floor of the Lotus Hotel at 120 Cach Mang Thang 8, Ward 7, District 3.
Through inspection, the police discovered that at tables 5, 7, 8 and in VIP room 2, 40 people were organizing gambling and gambling for money in the form of Poker. Initially, Quy confessed to organizing gambling in the form of Poker at the Bridge Club and Poker Center since April 2018 to collect 10%/session (4 hours) of the total amount of money gamblers used to buy chips to gamble. In the VIP room, there were often 30-40 gamblers participating in Poker for money. At most, each Poker table had 9 gamblers participating in gambling with each other, the amount of "chips" on the Poker table in the VIP room at its peak was about 500 million VND. Accordingly, on average, Quy illegally profited from 30-50 million VND per day.
Police are currently investigating further.
