Tourists flock to Ve Vung Lake (Yen Thanh) during the holidays

Coming to Ve Vung reservoir during the holidays, it is easy to feel the bustling atmosphere when groups of tourists flock to visit and experience. The large number of people coming makes the boat dock area always overloaded, tourists have to line up to wait their turn to get on the boat.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, a tourist from Dien Ky commune, Dien Chau district, shared: “Our group of more than 20 people left at 9am but had to wait until 10:30am for our turn because each boat trip takes about 30 minutes to return to shore. Even though we had to wait a long time, standing on the shore and watching the clear blue lake and peaceful mountains and forests was very comfortable and relaxing.”

Mr. Tran Van Vinh, a tourist from Vinh city, shared: “This holiday, I brought my whole family to Ve Vung Lake to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The feeling of sitting on a boat in the middle of the vast lake, watching the beautiful floating islands and enjoying rustic dishes such as grass carp with snails, braised carp with bamboo shoots... made the trip truly memorable and meaningful.”

Not only sightseeing, many tourists also organize outdoor activities such as camping, grilling food by the lake, singing together and enjoying the vacation in the most natural way. The bustling atmosphere makes this place lively and full of life.

Mr. Phan Trong Luong, who takes care of more than 120 hectares of chestnut forest and 40 hectares of acacia trees around the lake, and also serves as a boatman for tourists, shared: "During this holiday, there are too many visitors, we have to continuously serve from early morning until late at night." This partly reflects the growing attraction of Ve Vung Lake on the eco-tourism map of Nghe An province.

Built in the 1980s, Ve Vung Dam is not only an important irrigation project, providing irrigation water for thousands of hectares of rice and crops, but has also become a prominent eco-tourism highlight of Yen Thanh district. In recent years, the locality has also gradually invested in upgrading infrastructure and services to meet the needs of tourists for relaxation and entertainment, making Ve Vung an ideal destination for every holiday and New Year.
