Young man used knife to beat 66 year old man in the middle of the night

According to Mr. Thai, Hai had previously come to Mr. Thai’s farm to buy chickens to eat but did not pay. Mr. Thai said that because Hai had a criminal record and had been to prison, he and the people in the area did not dare to argue back or ask for the money Hai owed them. Once, when Hai abused his wife, Mr. Thai had to intervene.
After 11pm on October 8, 2020, Hai called Mr. Thai's mobile number and said, "Uncle, come out and ask me for help." In the dark, Mr. Thai put on his helmet, took his motorbike to his farm (near Hai's farm) and met Hai. At that time, Hai raised a large, long, sharp knife and asked Mr. Thai to stop, causing his motorbike to fall onto the road. Hai held the knife to Mr. Thai's face and neck, threatened and beat him.

“Hai thought that I tried to stop him from beating his wife in order to help his wife and children leave the house. Hai beat and cursed me, causing me to fall to the ground, then raised a knife and threatened to “cut my neck”. I tried to bear the pain and sit up, but Hai repeatedly put the knife to my face, then kicked me in the face, causing me to fall backwards several times. After beating me, Hai left me alone in the middle of the night and went home. I tried to stand up and called my relatives to take me to the emergency room,” Mr. Thai recounted the incident.
Hai’s brutal beating of Mr. Thai was recorded by a roadside camera. Mr. Thai’s children extracted the video clip and submitted it to the Nam Dan District Police. Mr. Thai also said that he was threatened with his life, humiliated, and had his health damaged, but after the incident, Hai was still “at large” outside the law. Mr. Thai has now filed a petition asking the police to consider prosecuting the case and prosecuting the accused against Hai.
Currently, Nam Dang District Police are taking statements and investigating.
