Nearly 1,000 prisoners had their sentences reduced on April 30

On April 27, the Board of Examinersreduce the deadlineserving prison sentences, held a meeting to consider reducing sentences for prisoners at the request of relevant agencies. Comrade Tran Ngoc Son - Chief Justice of Nghe An Provincial People's Court chaired. Attending were representatives of the Provincial People's Procuracy and units with prisoners whose sentences were considered for reduction.

Comrade Tran Ngoc Son affirmed that April 30th is a major holiday of the country, reducing the prison sentence demonstrates the humanity of our Party and State, and is an encouragement and motivation for each prisoner to be determined to reform well.

The Chief Justice also acknowledged the great contributions of the Board of Supervisors and the Prison Police force in the management, education and rehabilitation of prisoners at prisons, temporary detention camps and temporary detention centers where prisoners are serving their sentences.

Units with prisoners considered for reduction of prison sentence term this time include Prison No. 03, Prison No. 6 - Department of Prison Management Police, compulsory education facilities, reform schools - Ministry of Public Security and of the criminal enforcement agency of Nghe An Provincial Police...

The Council has seriously, objectively and fairly considered the conditions for reduction, the nature and level of danger of each type of crime, each case of public interest and the process of striving, training and progressive reform of each prisoner.
