Nearly 150 ship owners trained in fishery hygiene and food safety
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the peak implementation period of removing the European Commission's yellow card on seafood, on April 27, Nghe An Fishing Port Management Board coordinated with the Department of Fisheries to organize a propaganda and training session on environmental hygiene and food safety for fishermen and fishing boat owners in the area.
A total of 150 fishermen who are owners of fishing vessels were invited to attend training, including training for 85 fishermen and vessel owners from the three communes of Quynh Nghia, Tien Thuy and An Hoa (Quynh Luu) in the morning of April 27 in Quynh Nghia and training for 80 fishermen from the communes of Dien Bich, Dien Ngoc and Dien Kim (Dien Chau) in the afternoon in Dien Ngoc.

Along with training and propaganda on environmental hygiene and food safety, on this occasion, the Border Guard Stations of Quynh Phuong (Hoang Mai Town) and Dien Thanh (Dien Chau) organized propaganda on fishing without violating IUU regulations and signed a three-party commitment between fishermen, local authorities and the Border Guard Station at the estuary. Currently, hundreds of fishermen who are boat owners in the communes of Quynh Phuong, Quynh Lap, Quynh Di (Hoang Mai Town) and Dien Ngoc, Dien Bich (Dien Chau) where the stations are located have signed a commitment to fishing without violating IUU regulations.
