Nearly 150 Thai households received televisions

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 2 and 3, 2016, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology gave televisions to people in 16 villages of Quy Chau and Que Phong districts.

This is an activity of the Project to study the impact of television on changes in Thai families, implemented in 16 villages in 5 communes of 2 districts of Quy Chau and Que Phong: Nam Giai, Nam Nhong (Que Phong), Dien Lam, Chau Hoan and Chau Phong (Quy Chau). Accordingly, 146 televisions and accompanying equipment were given to Thai households in the area. On this occasion, each village received an additional 22 million VND from the project.

Staff of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology presented gifts to representatives of the villages.

In addition, the staff of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology also directly trained people with investigative skills, teamwork, opening up research directions on the Thai people, related to changes in life, preserving the cultural identity of the Thai people in the ethnic communities of the highlands of Nghe An. The results of the project can open up research directions on the Thai people in Western Nghe An related to changes in customs, practices, and social life in research and cooperation with localities.
