On the evening of April 18, the Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghia Dan district to organize the opening ceremony of the Sports Competition for Ethnic Minorities in the Mountainous Areas and an art exchange to celebrate the Cultural Day of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (April 19, 2008 - April 19, 2019).
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ho Mau Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, representatives of the Provincial People's Council, provincial and district-level departments and branches, and a large number of people in Nghia Dan district.

The competition took place from April 18 to 20 with sports competitions: Volleyball, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, shuttlecock throwing and tug of war; attracting nearly 300 athletes from Nghia Dan, Ky Son, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Que Phong, Tuong Duong, Anh Son, Thanh Chuong districts, Thai Hoa town, Con Cuong, Quynh Luu and Tan Ky to compete.

This is an activity of profound political and social significance; demonstrating the Party and State's concern for ethnic policies and work, aiming at the goal of preserving and promoting national cultural identity in Nghe An in particular and the whole country in general.
