“The reason why people have drastically reduced the area for this year's spring-summer shrimp crop is because the price of input materials (seedlings, feed, veterinary medicine...) for shrimp has increased, capital is difficult, the weather is complicated, shrimp are infected with diseases; the water source of Mai Giang river is polluted... so people do not dare to plant shrimp for fear of losing money.
Currently, the district has implemented a project to build a water supply system for industrial shrimp farming in Quynh Bang commune; instructed people to raise shrimp in small areas and leave some ponds to store water for treatment; propagated people to increase the application of new technology and new farming methods to limit water changes; increased pond treatment time such as drying ponds, cleaning ponds after disease treatment...
