On July 22, the Mo Duc District Police detectives expanded their investigation and arrested Nguyen Van Hien (54 years old, residing in Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City) - the sleeper bus driver who hit and killed someone and then fled.

According to the initial investigation, in the early morning of the same day, Mr. Hien, driving a sleeper bus from Gia Lai province to Da Nang, when arriving at Chau Me village, Duc Phong commune (Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province), collided with a motorcyclist crossing the road. As a result, Mr. Nguyen Trung Thi (21 years old, residing in Duc Phong commune) died on the spot.

Stopping to check the accident scene, the sleeper bus driver, observing that there were no witnesses, pulled the victim's motorbike out from under the bus and, together with the bus assistant, carried the body to the side of Highway 1 and fled.

Discovering the suspicious incident, Nguyen Sao Ngoc Vang, a taxi driver, reported it to the Mo Duc District Police. Upon receiving the report, the police urgently chased the sleeper bus driver for dozens of kilometers and arrested him in Quang Nam province.

At the investigation agency, Hien confessed that he was so scared that after running over and killing a pedestrian on a deserted road, he fled.
