Impersonating police to trick two young men into taking their phones and money
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 30, Con Cuong District Police issued a notice to search for a subject who impersonated a police officer to take two phones and cash from two young men residing in the area.
Previously, at about 12:15 pm on May 29, 2021, Mr. LQTr, born in 2002 and Mr. VVH, born in 2004, both residing in Yen Khe commune, Con Cuong district, were sitting in a restaurant when a subject about 30-35 years old, black skin, wearing a denim shirt, blue denim shorts, a beige baseball cap, riding a black Yamaha Exciter came to the front of the restaurant and said: "I amPolicehere, my family follow me

Hearing that, Tr. and H. stood up and followed. The subject drove Tr. and H. to the cemetery area in Tan Lap village, Bong Khe hamlet, Con Cuong district. When they arrived, the subject said: "I am a police officer. Give me your phone and money so I can investigate because it is related to a theft case. Unlock the phone password, log out of iCloud, then give me the phone and money."
Tr. and H. listened and gave the subject an iPhone 6s with a black case, an Oppo phone, and 535,000 VND in cash. Then, the subject drove Tr. and H. back to the shop and left.
After receiving the report, Con Cuong District Police called on people to provide information about the suspect and the above evidence.
If any citizen provides information leading to the arrest of the subject, the District Police will award a reward of 5 million VND.
