Mr. Vo Thanh Binh, Mrs. Huong's son, said: "These bicycles have been with the four of us for 10 days in the southern provinces. Thanks to them, the online community and benefactors have sympathized and helped, so my family really appreciates them and decided to bring them back to Nghe An as souvenirs." Photo: Quang An |

After completing the procedures, Nghi Loc district authorities arranged 2 shuttle buses, including 1 car carrying the mother and her 4 children and 1 pickup truck carrying bicycles. The whole family will be taken to Nghi Xa commune health station, Nghi Loc district for quarantine according to regulations.
Previously, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong and her three children and grandchildren, Vo Thi Thanh (30 years old), Vo Thanh Binh (28 years old) and Vo Nguyen Thanh Trinh (15 years old), went to Trang Bom district, Dong Nai to work.
However, due to the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, the mother and her two children were unemployed and had no money to cover their living expenses, so they decided to return home by bicycle.
Starting from Trang Bom district on July 9, they rested as they went. They arrived at Chung My epidemic control checkpoint (Ninh Phuoc district) at noon on July 19 and were "discovered" by the checkpoint force. After 10 days of cycling, the mother and her children traveled about 282km from Trang Bom to Ninh Phuoc. On average, they travel about 28km per day. If they cycled at the same speed as the past few days, it would take them nearly 40 more days to get home.
Fortunately, the story was shared by the online community, and at the same time, benefactors joined hands to help with funding so that the whole family could return to Nghe An safely and quickly.
