Pig price in the North
In the North, the price of live pigs today, September 20, 2024, has increased sharply, ranging from 67,000 to 70,000 VND/kg.
In Hanoi, the price of live pigs is currently 70,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region after increasing 3 times.
In Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang, the price of live pigs also increased by 3 prices, reaching 69,000 VND/kg, equivalent to the price in Phu Tho and Thai Binh after increasing by 2 prices.
Ninh Binh also recorded an increase of 3 prices, with the price of live pigs at 68,000 VND/kg, equal to Ha Nam, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen and Bac Giang.
On the contrary, in Lao Cai, after increasing 2 prices, the price of live pigs is 67,000 VND/kg, similar to Yen Bai and Nam Dinh, this is the lowest price in the region.
Pig price in Central Highlands region
Today, the price of live pigs in this area has increased slightly, only 1,000 VND/kg, with prices ranging from 63,000 to 67,000 VND/kg.
In Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, the price of live pigs is 67,000 VND/kg, the highest price in the region.
In Quang Nam and Ha Tinh, the price of live pigs after the increase is 65,000 VND/kg, equivalent to the price in Quang Binh and Lam Dong.
Khanh Hoa also increased the price to 64,000 VND/kg, this price is also applied in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak and Binh Thuan.
On the contrary, in Ninh Thuan, the price of live pigs is currently 63,000 VND/kg, the lowest in this region.
Pig price in the Southern region
In the Southern region, the price of live pigs today increased slightly, only 1,000 VND/kg more, with prices ranging from 63,000 to 65,000 VND/kg.
In Ho Chi Minh City and some provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, and other provinces, the price of live pigs is 65,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.
Soc Trang and Hau Giang also increased prices, purchasing at 64,000 VND/kg, equivalent to the price in Long An and An Giang.
On the contrary, in Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, and Tra Vinh, the lowest purchase price is only 63,000 VND/kg.
Nationwide, live pig prices are increasing, especially strongly in the North, up to 70,000 VND/kg, with an average price of 63,000 to 70,000 VND/kg.
Due to rising domestic pork prices and shortages, pork smuggling across the southwestern border has re-emerged.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has sent a dispatch to the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province requesting the prevention of illegal transportation and trading of pigs.
The document emphasized that, according to reports from local people, illegal trading and transportation of pigs across the border has become popular and complicated, increasing the risk of spreading dangerous diseases to the livestock industry and public health.
Dangerous epidemics include African swine fever, foot-and-mouth disease and blue-ear pig disease.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requested Tay Ninh province to direct relevant agencies to focus resources to control and strictly handle violations, in order to prevent the smuggling of pigs into Vietnam.
