Today, the rice harvest is high but the purchase is slow, leading to higher prices for good quality rice.

In An Cu, Soc Trang, there is a lot of poor quality rice but good quality rice has a high price. In An Giang, the buying situation is slow and the price depends on each type of rice.

Market prices for rice have changed compared to yesterday. Specifically, raw IR 504 Summer-Autumn rice is currently priced from VND10,800 to VND11,000 per kilogram, up VND200. Finished IR 504 rice is priced from VND13,100 to VND13,300 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, at retail markets, prices of rice remain unchanged. Nang Nhen rice is currently priced at VND28,000/kg.

Other types of rice are priced as follows: Jasmine rice from 18,000 to 20,000 VND/kg, Nang Hoa rice 20,000 VND/kg, and regular rice from 15,000 to 16,000 VND/kg.

Other types of rice such as long-grain fragrant rice cost from VND20,000 to VND21,000 per kilogram, jasmine rice and Taiwanese fragrant rice both cost VND20,000 per kilogram, while common white rice costs VND17,000 per kilogram.

Soc rice usually costs from 18,000 to 18,500 VND/kg, Thai Soc rice 21,000 VND/kg, and Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg.

In provinces such as Tien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap, and Can Tho, people's demand for rice increased, leading to farmers offering higher prices and rice prices in the market generally increasing slightly.

According to the latest information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice price remains unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically:

IR 50404 rice costs from 7,600 to 7,900 VND/kg.

Dai Thom 8 rice costs 8,300 VND/kg.

OM 5451 rice costs from 8,000 to 8,200 VND/kg.

OM 18 rice is sold at 8,300 VND/kg.

OM 380 rice prices range from 7,600 to 7,800 VND/kg.

Japanese rice costs from 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg.

The highest price of dried Nang Nhen rice is 20,000 VND/kg.

The glutinous rice market remained unchanged from yesterday, with prices unchanged. IR 4625 glutinous rice is priced between VND7,400 and VND7,600 per kg. An Giang glutinous rice is priced between VND7,000 and VND7,200 per kg.

The price of rice by-products ranges from 6,600 to 8,800 VND/kg. Specifically, the price of OM 5451 broken rice ranges from 8,600 to 8,800 VND/kg, while the price of dry bran ranges from 6,600 to 6,700 VND/kg.

Rice export price today 9/11/2024

Regarding the export market, Vietnam's rice prices remained unchanged from yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association, the price of 100% broken rice was $452 per ton, 5% standard rice was $571 per ton, and 25% broken rice was $534 per ton.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued an urgent dispatch to support people affected by storm No. 3.

The Ministries of Defense, Public Security, and Finance, along with leaders of the northern mountainous and midland provinces, were asked to cooperate to provide food and necessities.

Storm No. 3 caused heavy rain and severe damage to the Northern region, affecting people's lives and production.

Authorities were directed to quickly distribute food, supplies, and clean water to people isolated by the storm.

The Ministry of Finance has provided 100 tons of rice each to the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security from national reserves, to support areas in need due to the storm.
