Rice price today 9/6/2024

Rice trading in localities has slowed down after the holiday, with few imported rice and stable transactions. In An Cu and Sa Dec, the amount of imported rice is not much and purchases from warehouses are not active, largely due to unfavorable weather.

The market price of rice has been adjusted compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 Summer-Autumn raw rice is currently priced from 11,100 to 11,200 VND/kg, down 150 VND/kg, while IR 504 finished rice is priced from 13,100 to 13,300 VND/kg, down 50 to 150 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices have also changed. Nang Nhen rice has the highest price of VND28,000/kg, Jasmine rice is from VND18,000 to VND20,000/kg, Nang Hoa rice is VND20,000/kg, and regular rice is priced from VND15,000 to VND16,000/kg. Other types of rice such as long-grain fragrant rice, Huong jasmine rice, Taiwanese fragrant rice, and Japanese rice are priced from VND20,000 to VND22,000/kg. Soc regular rice increased by VND500/kg, to VND18,000 to VND18,500/kg, and Soc Thai rice is priced at VND21,000/kg.

Today, September 6, rice prices in the Mekong Delta decreased compared to yesterday.

According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang, the price of IR 50404 rice decreased by 100 VND, to 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.

Dai Thom 8 rice is priced at 8,300 - 8,500 VND/kg, down 100 - 200 VND.

OM 5451 rice is priced at 8,200 - 8,400 VND/kg. OM 18 rice decreased by 100 VND, the current price is 8,400 - 8,600 VND/kg. OM 380 decreased by 200 VND, fluctuating at 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg.

Japanese rice price remains around 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.

Dried Nang Nhen rice is sold at 20,000 VND/kg.

By-product price today 9/6/2024

The sticky rice market remained unchanged from yesterday. The price of IR 4625 sticky rice remained at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg. The price of An Giang sticky rice also remained unchanged, still at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg.

The price of rice by-products fluctuated slightly, the price of broken rice OM 5451 decreased, currently 8,800 - 9,100 VND/kg. The price of dry bran also decreased to 6,750 - 6,850 VND/kg.

Export rice price today 9/6/2024

Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged from yesterday, at $452 per ton for 100 percent broken rice, $575 per ton for 5 percent standard rice, and $535 per ton for 25 percent broken rice.

In the first 8 months of 2024, Vietnam's agricultural sector achieved many successes, with the growth of agricultural, forestry and fishery exports, contributing to creating a trade surplus.

To date, rice output has reached 6.16 million tons and rice export value is 3.85 billion USD. It is expected that by the end of the year, the agricultural sector will export more than 8 million tons of rice and earn 5 billion USD.

Although the rice growing area has decreased to 7.12 million hectares, thanks to new rice varieties with high yield and quality, rice export output still meets the target.

The agricultural sector is expanding domestic and international consumption markets, addressing market issues to support exports, and implementing projects to promote exports to major markets such as China, the United States, Japan, the EU, as well as new markets such as Halal Muslim countries, the Middle East, and Africa.

Vietnam is taking advantage of Free Trade Agreements such as CPTPP and EVFTA to expand exports, support businesses in signing new orders and protect trademarks and geographical indications for export products.

The agricultural sector is also closely monitoring food prices and supplies, reporting to regulatory agencies and supporting localities in connecting and promoting the processing and consumption of agricultural products during the harvest season.
