According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 am today, Vietnam time, was at 3,336.67 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 30.54 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,150 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 106.32 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 15.18 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

World gold prices increased nearly 1% after the USD slightly decreased, in the context of the market waiting for the negotiation between the US and China at the end of the week and after recent statements by US President Donald Trump on tariffs.
Specifically, the spot price of gold increased by 0.92% and has increased by nearly 3% this week. Since the beginning of the year, gold, considered a safe haven asset against geopolitical and economic instability, has increased in price by more than 27%. Meanwhile, the price of gold futures in the US also increased by 1% to 3,338.1 USD/ounce.
The dollar fell 0.3% against other currencies, making gold cheaper for investors using other currencies. President Trump said an 80% tariff on Chinese goods “looks right,” as the world’s two largest economies prepare for talks aimed at easing trade tensions.
Tensions between India and Pakistan also contributed to the rise in gold prices. The two countries accused each other of new military attacks, using drones and artillery, marking the third consecutive day of the most serious conflict in nearly 30 years.
According to David Meger, director of metals trading at High Ridge Futures, tariff-related uncertainty remains the main factor supporting gold prices. However, he also said that the market could enter a sideways or downward correction phase in the near future.
In India, gold dealers have slashed prices as demand has dropped after the holidays, while a weaker rupee has pushed domestic gold prices to near record levels. In contrast, demand in China has picked up slightly after the holidays.
Federal Reserve Governor Michael Barr warned that President Trump's trade policies could increase inflation, reduce growth and push unemployment higher by the end of the year, leaving policymakers with a difficult task of balancing economic issues.
Besides gold, silver price increased 0.2% to 32.56 USD/ounce, platinum increased 1.1% to 986.55 USD and palladium also increased slightly by 0.1% to 976.68 USD.
