Gasoline price today September 25, 2025: Down to nearly 20,000 VND/liter
Gasoline and oil prices today, September 25: Gasoline and diesel prices decreased simultaneously from 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, while kerosene and fuel oil increased slightly.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On the afternoon of September 25, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance announced the adjustment of gasoline prices. Accordingly:
- E5 RON92 gasoline price decreased by 370 VND/liter to 19,610 VND/liter.
- RON 95-III gasoline price decreased by 440 VND/liter, to 20,160 VND/liter.
- Diesel oil slightly decreased by 50 VND/liter, to 18,650 VND/liter.
- Kerosene price increased by 80 VND/liter to 18,620 VND/liter.
- Fuel oil price increased by 70 VND/kg, up to 15,200 VND/kg.
During this period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund.
Thus, gasoline prices have turned down after a week of slight increases from 40 to 230 VND/liter depending on the type. The world market during the operating period from September 18 to 24 was affected by OPEC+'s increased exports, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and tensions in the Middle East, causing prices to fluctuate erratically between commodities.
Gasoline discounts at businesses
On September 25, gasoline discounts of some businesses were adjusted to quite high levels.
At Hoang Trong Company, the discount for RON95-III gasoline ranges from 1,300 - 1,500 VND/liter depending on the warehouse, and diesel is about 1,250 - 1,450 VND/liter.
Tu Luc Petroleum Enterprise offers a discount of VND1,450/liter for E5 and RON95-III gasoline, and VND1,300 - VND1,400/liter for diesel.
MIPEC Petroleum in the Northern region applies a discount of VND1,350/liter for RON95-III and from VND1,200 - VND1,450/liter for diesel.
Why large displacement motorbikes are not afraid of E10 biofuel
In Vietnam, the roadmap for using biofuel is being discussed with many conflicting opinions. According to the draft of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from January 1, 2026, all gasoline in circulation nationwide will be E10 gasoline. By 2031, this fuel will be switched to E15.
The use of biofuel is considered beneficial in helping to reduce emissions and protect the environment. However, many people are concerned, especially owners of older cars, because they fear that the engine is not compatible with this type of gasoline.
Interestingly, owners of large displacement motorcycles such as Triumph or Harley-Davidson seem quite calm. The reason is that these models are imported from Europe - where biofuel has been used for many years.
A salesman for large-displacement motorcycles in Ho Chi Minh City said that information about suitable gasoline types is often clearly printed on the fuel hood by car manufacturers. For example, Triumph models have been able to use E10 gasoline since 1999.
Therefore, when used in Vietnam, car owners can be completely confident that their cars have been designed to be compatible with this new type of fuel.
