Rescued 4 people from a house fire at night in Vinh City
(Baonghean.vn) - The fire broke out in the kitchen and garage area behind the first floor. There were two motorbikes parked in the kitchen, one of which was leaking gasoline.
At 20:55 on April 10, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH), Nghe An Provincial Police received a report of a house fire at No. 16A, Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, Ha Huy Tap Ward (Vinh City).
The house that burned down belongs to the family of Mr. Phan Van V. (born in 1969). This is a 2-storey house with a terrace. More than half of the front facade of the first floor is rented by the owner to a company for business purposes, the back facade has stairs leading to the 2nd floor, which is the main residence.
The fire broke out in the kitchen and garage area at the back of the first floor. There were two motorbikes parked in the kitchen, and the motorbike outside was leaking gasoline. When Mr. V’s wife turned on the gas stove to use, the fire suddenly broke out and quickly spread to the two motorbikes and some surrounding equipment and items.

Immediately, Mr. V. quickly cut off the electricity, used on-site fire fighting equipment with his wife to control the fire and called the Fire Police; then, he and his wife and two children ran to the roof of the house.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department mobilized 2 fire trucks and 16 officers and soldiers to quickly arrive at the scene to spray water to extinguish the fire, transport gas cylinders, and prevent the risk of re-ignition and fire spreading. On the other hand, they deployed ladders, approached and reassured the victims, dismantled the roller shutter, and assisted and rescued 4 trapped family members to safety.
The initial cause was determined to be a gasoline leak from the family's motorbike stored in the garage that caught a spark when the gas stove was turned on, causing the fire.
