Resolving pending, complicated and long-standing cases

According to the report presented at the conference, during the month, the sectors in the bloc have well implemented the tasks of the unit. The armed forces have proactively grasped, analyzed, forecasted the situation and synchronously deployed measures to prevent, stop, and not let reactionary elements sabotage; advised the Party Committee and the government to promptly resolve outstanding incidents and complaints among the people, not allowing complications to occur, forming "hot spots" of security and order.

Many major economic and drug cases have been solved, and a large amount of evidence has been seized. During the month, 151 cases and 186 drug criminals were discovered and arrested; 964.8 grams of heroin, 15,718 synthetic drug pills, 13.4 kg of crystal meth, 64.18 grams of marijuana, and 15 kg of opium were seized. Three major drug trafficking rings and locations were destroyed in Vinh City, Nghi Loc, and Que Phong.

During the month, the province received 566 complaints and denunciations from citizens (down 16% compared to May 2018), mainly related to areas such as land management, site clearance compensation, implementation of social policies, policies for people with meritorious services, etc.

The two-level prosecution agencies have strengthened coordination in investigating, prosecuting and trying cases. During the month, the two-level people's courts accepted 2,691 cases of all kinds, and resolved 1,190 cases, reaching 44%.

The Customs Department and Market Management Department have strengthened inspection, supervision, and coordinated the arrest of many cases related to fraud, counterfeit goods trading, and food safety; implementing the tasks of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 on strengthening inspection and control to combat and prevent smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border.

At the conference, representatives of the sectors in the bloc reviewed the implementation of tasks in the month, the achieved and unachieved tasks in various fields, and drew lessons to effectively implement tasks in the coming time.

On that basis, the conference agreed on a number of key tasks for July 2018, such as organizing a review of two and a half years of implementing the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and a preliminary review of five years of implementing Resolution 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of Nghe An province according to the functions and tasks of each sector; focusing on advising and coordinating to effectively resolve complicated cases related to complaints among the people; continuing to do a good job of receiving people, receiving petitions and resolving complaints and denunciations; inspecting, reviewing, advising and resolving pending, complicated, prolonged cases, cases arising from the grassroots level, not allowing "hot spots" of security and order to occur in the area.
