Surveillance of suspect in murder of wife and 2 young children

On December 29, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that the Provincial Police Investigation Agency is closely monitoring the suspect who caused the particularly serious murder case that killed 3 people, which occurred in Nga An Commune (Nga Son District, Thanh Hoa).

The suspect is Nguyen Minh Hung (36 years old, residing in Nga An commune), who is being treated in the hospital for an attempted suicide. The three victims include: Ms. Pham Thi Theu (36 years old, Hung's wife) and 2 daughters: Nguyen Thuy Dung (12 years old), Nguyen Thi Van Anh (5 years old), all of whom are Hung's biological children.

According to initial information, at around 10pm on December 28, Hung used a knife to repeatedly slash his wife and two young daughters to death at home. Afterwards, Hung used a knife to cut his left hand in an attempt to commit suicide but failed.

At about 6:30 a.m. on December 29, people discovered the incident and reported it to the police, and took Hung to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The Provincial Police Department has organized a crime scene investigation, an autopsy, and monitored suspect Hung at the hospital to investigate and clarify the cause of the case.

According to the victim's neighbors, Ms. Theu is a primary school teacher, and Hung is an excavator operator, previously worked in Son La province and currently works for a company in Nga Son district; the two children are well-behaved and good students. For a long time, neighbors have never seen the couple quarrel or fight. Therefore, immediately after the incident happened, local people were very shocked./.
