After visiting North and South Korea, a popular travel blogger revealed the differences between the two countries through the photos he took.
Jacob Laukaitis, 22, from Lithuania, has more than 11,000 Instagram followers. Speaking to Mail Online Travel, Laukaitis said he went on a seven-day trip to North Korea a year ago.
He said the tour operators took his passport and did not let him explore anything on his own. Every photo he wanted to take had to be approved by the tour guide. He was not allowed to take photos of soldiers, workers or construction sites.
He also had little opportunity to interact with the locals and conversely they seemed uninterested in meeting foreign tourists.
The 7-day tour to North Korea was one of the most interesting trips for Laukaitis. After his trip to North Korea, he decided to go to South Korea to compare life in the two countries on the Korean peninsula.
