According to the investigation results, at the end of October 2020, three Thai brothers bought many junk SIM cards, pretended to be telecommunications officers and called many people, informing them that the subscribers had won motorbikes, savings books and cash. The suspects asked to complete the documents, transfer fees and registration fees to online card game accounts to receive the prizes.
When the victim trusted him to transfer money, they cut off contact. Thai then asked Cuong to transfer money from the game account to a bank account to withdraw cash, paying him 35% of the amount he had appropriated.
