At the meeting, the delegation was given an overview of the structure and activities of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union. The Nghe An Provincial Women's Union at all levels consistently carries out three main tasks: promoting and supporting women in their comprehensive development; mobilizing and supporting women in creative start-ups and economic development; building a strong organization, participating in Party and government building.

In the process of implementing activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of women in the province, the Provincial Women's Union has received support and assistance from a number of international organizations.

In particular, from 2015 to 2017, the Association received funding from KOICA and KAUW (Korea) to implement the project "Vocational training to create financial autonomy for Vietnamese women".

The project has helped improve the vocational training environment of the Women's Union's employment promotion center through basic upgrading of the facilities of vocational training rooms.

During the 3 years of implementing the Project, 434 students were trained in the following occupations: IT, sewing, food processing. Of which, about 80% of students have stable jobs with an income of 3 - 5 million VND/month.

Expressing their impression of the social role of Vietnamese women in general and Nghe An women in particular, the Gyeonggi-do provincial council delegation assessed that with profound changes in awareness and thinking, the role of Vietnamese women has changed, not only contributing to the process of industrialization and modernization, but also being present in political organizations.

Gyeonggi-do will learn from Vietnam, as well as Nghe An, about solutions to affirm the position and role of women in political and social organizations.

For Gyeonggi-do Province, the budget for women's development is given top priority, in an effort to enhance women's role in society.

The province has established many organizations and associations such as: Center for anti-violence against women; Center for women's business development; additional training programs, supporting women to integrate into the community due to interrupted childbirth...

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed many issues such as: an overview of women's rights; gender equality in society; combating violence against women and children; policies for women during pregnancy...
