Nghe An Customs focuses on removing difficulties for businesses

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 8, Nghe An Customs Department coordinated with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize the 2018 business dialogue conference and disseminate laws on customs documents.

In the first 5 months of the year, more than 200 out of over 300 enterprises operating in import and export in Nghe An participated in customs procedures with a total import and export turnover of 509.7 million USD, an increase of 57.8% over the same period.

Main export items include various types of white limestone, clinker, etc. Main import items are machinery and equipment, various types of steel, rolled aluminum, electronic components, etc.

Budget revenue from import-export activities at the Customs Department reached 679 billion VND, reaching nearly 54% of the legal target.

At the conference, businesses operating in the import-export sector participated in the discussion and raised difficulties in the operation process such as: tax management, accounting regime, tax deferral, tax exemption, goods release issues, etc.

Enterprises also recommended and proposed mechanisms and policies related to import-export activities, especially administrative procedure reform towards increasing convenience, simplicity and transparency for enterprises.

Representatives of the Customs Department answered questions about customs procedures for businesses; at the same time, they said they will continue to strongly reform administrative procedures resolved under the one-stop mechanism, promote the application of information technology, modernize customs, implement an online public service system, and apply level 3.

In addition, strengthening coordination between forces inside and outside the industry, local authorities do a good job of fighting smuggling and trade fraud, ensuring rights and fairness for businesses participating in import and export.

On this occasion, the enterprises were also informed by the officers of the Provincial Customs Department about the new points of the Government's amended Decree 59 detailing and measures to implement the Customs Law on customs procedures, inspection, supervision and control; Circular 39 of the Ministry of Finance regulating customs procedures, inspection, supervision, import and export taxes and tax management for imported and exported goods; the Law on Foreign Trade Management and Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management.
