Two young men in Quynh Luu went online to sell lottery numbers to steal property.
(Baonghean.vn) - On October 7, Quynh Luu District Police said that they had just arrested two subjects for fraud and property appropriation. Their modus operandi was to advertise and sell lottery numbers through social networks, taking advantage of the victims' greed and gambling addiction to appropriate property.
Previously, from the beginning of September 2021,Quynh Luu District Police discovered a crime ring of fraud and property appropriation with extremely secretive and sophisticated methods and tricks. Notably, the number of victims "falling into the trap" reached hundreds nationwide.

After a period of investigation, on October 4, Quynh Luu District Police successfully broke the case, arresting two subjects Tran Van Nam (born 1991) and Mai Ngoc Minh (born 1987), both residing in Ngoc Son Commune, Quynh Luu District, for the act offraud and appropriation of propertyby selling lottery numbers over the internet.
Conducting an emergency search of the suspects' residence, the police seized evidence including: 3 mobile phones, 2 computers, 2 sound-control microphones, bank cards...

At the Quynh Luu District Police Investigation Agency, Nam and Minh confessed that their method was to create video clips and post them on Youtube channels, through Zalo accounts to connect and transact with people who wanted to buy lottery numbers to defraud and appropriate property.
During the investigation, the authorities initially determined that 4 victims had been defrauded by Nam and Minh of 80,000,000 VND. Currently, the case is still under further investigation.
