Korea supports production of high-yield peanut varieties in Dien Chau
(Baonghean.vn) - The winter peanut seed production model in Dien Thinh commune (Dien Chau - Nghe An) funded by Korea has been implemented since the 2017 winter crop and has brought economic efficiency to farmers.

This winter crop, hamlet 14 and part of hamlet 16 (Dien Thinh commune) produced 13 hectares of peanut seeds. Currently, farmers are carrying out mass harvesting to prepare the land for the 2019 spring peanut crop.
Mr. Tran Van Hieu - Chairman of Nam Thinh Cooperative said: The peanut seed production program under the KOPIA project aims to produce the "pure L20" peanut variety from the "super pure" variety provided by the North Central Institute of Science and Technology.

With experience in intensive traditional peanut cultivation on Dien Thinh land, and with technical support from the project and 100% funding for seeds, fertilizers and plows, and the purchase of all products at market prices, farmers are very excited to respond and comply with the production process under the guidance of technical experts.
According to the assessment, peanuts have high productivity, averaging 2.8 - 3 tons/ha, higher than peanuts produced in the winter crop of previous years.
